Creativity and Barcelona’s culinary spirit in the heart of the city

Barcelona is once again filled with aromas, creativity and Mediterranean atmosphere with a new edition of Tast a la Rambla, one of the city’s most anticipated gastronomic festivals of the year. Starting today and running until Sunday 31 May, Plaça Catalunya becomes a large open-air culinary space where some of Barcelona’s finest kitchens come out onto the streets to bring gastronomy closer to everyone: restaurants, pastry shops, showcookings, live music and food-related activities just a few metres from our two hotels: Hotel Continental Barcelona and Hotel Continental Palacete.

Much more than a gastronomic festival

Tast a la Rambla was created with the aim of bringing Barcelona’s culinary scene closer to both locals and visitors in an accessible, dynamic and festive format. Over the years, it has become one of the city’s major events and a wonderful opportunity to discover renowned restaurants and chefs in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

During the festival, more than 30 restaurants and gastronomic establishments offer special tasting dishes and creations prepared exclusively for the occasion. The event combines Catalan cuisine, traditional recipes, international gastronomy, creative cuisine, artisan pastries and options for every taste.

Take the opportunity this weekend to discover how the atmosphere of Plaça Catalunya transforms itself, inviting you to stroll, discover new flavours and enjoy Barcelona from a truly authentic and Mediterranean perspective.

Restaurants, chefs and the flavours of Barcelona

Among the participating venues are some of the city’s most emblematic restaurants and recognised culinary names, including some of Barcelona’s best-known gastronomic establishments.

One of the great attractions of Tast a la Rambla is precisely the possibility of trying many different culinary styles in one single space: from traditional tapas to contemporary cuisine, creative desserts and international proposals.

Showcookings, activities and live music

In addition to the tastings, the festival organises showcookings, workshops and gastronomic activities where chefs and specialists share recipes, techniques and culinary curiosities.

There is also live music and cultural activities that turn the event into a very pleasant experience for both visitors and the people of Barcelona themselves.

An initiative promoted by Amics de La Rambla

Tast a la Rambla is promoted by Amics de La Rambla, a historic association that has been working for more than 60 years to revitalise, protect and promote La Rambla as one of Barcelona’s most emblematic spaces. The organisation promotes cultural, social and gastronomic initiatives that help preserve the identity and human spirit of this beloved avenue.

Hotel Continental Barcelona is part of the association as a member, reinforcing its commitment to the cultural, social and economic life of La Rambla and Barcelona’s historic centre.
