A gastronomic experience with a Catalan soul
In Barcelona, gastronomy is a true expression of identity, culture and connection. Mediterranean cuisine, olive oil, and the iconic pa amb tomàquet—with or without garlic—are just some of the flavours every visitor should experience.
If you wish to enjoy an authentic Catalan dining experience in a unique setting, the restaurant La Font de Prades is an excellent choice.
Located inside the Poble Espanyol, on Montjuïc hill, this restaurant offers an immersion into traditional Catalan cuisine in a space filled with family spirit, history and charm. Perhaps this is why we feel such a special mutual appreciation…

A special bond rooted in history and tradition
La Font de Prades is also a place we hold very dear, the result of a long-standing relationship linked to the Cofradía de Santa Marta, patron saint of hospitality.
Each year, on the occasion of her feast day, a mass is held at the iconic Basílica de Santa María del Mar, where her altar is located. Afterwards, a “germanor” dinner takes place, often hosted at La Font de Prades, reinforcing its role as a meeting point for professionals in the sector and for people united by shared values.

Poble Espanyol: a unique setting to enjoy at your own pace

One of the great highlights of La Font de Prades is its pleasant terrace, surrounded by trees and set in a peaceful corner of the venue. At its centre stands a faithful reproduction of the fountain from Prades, the town in Tarragona that gives the restaurant its name.
Enjoying this setting is a true luxury: a car-free space where calm and tranquillity invite you to disconnect from the city’s rhythm and embrace a deeply relaxing moment in a unique environment.
In addition, if you book at the restaurant, entry to Poble Espanyol is free, making the experience a complete cultural and gastronomic plan.

Traditional Catalan cuisine with authentic flavour
The menu is based on classic Catalan cuisine, prepared with local products and traditional recipes:
• Grilled meats
• Calçots in season (from late March to late April)
• Local cured meats and cheeses
• Dishes such as escalivada or fricandó
• Desserts like crema catalana, simply delicious!
All of this is served in a warm atmosphere that evokes the essence of a traditional masía, the typical Catalan rural house.
Nearby: art and passion at Tablao de Carmen

Just a few steps away, it is also worth visiting Tablao de Carmen, one of the most emblematic flamenco venues in the city.
Founded in tribute to the legendary dancer Carmen Amaya, this tablao keeps the spirit of authentic flamenco alive in an intimate and carefully curated setting. It has been run by the same family since its beginnings, giving it a genuine and welcoming character.
Its Andalusian courtyard and its history make it a truly special corner within Poble Espanyol—a place where music, dance and emotion create an intense and memorable cultural experience.
