Three events that confirm why the world keeps choosing Barcelona to meet
Some cities are visited. Barcelona is also chosen — chosen as a place to meet and to connect. Every autumn proves it: the same setting that captivates passing visitors transforms, for a few weeks, into a meeting point for thousands of professionals arriving from every corner of the world to connect and do business.
In this post, we bring you the three key dates that will shape the congress and trade fair calendar this October and November 2026.

October: entrepreneurship and social innovation
Late in the month comes Bizbarcelona, the leading event for SMEs and self-employed professionals. Over two days, the Montjuïc venue fills with ideas, digital tools, and conversations aimed at helping small and medium-sized businesses grow.
- Dates: October 21–22, 2026
- Location: Fira de Barcelona, Montjuïc venue

November: flavor as a meeting point
Early in the month, Barcelona changes register and dresses in fine dining with the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona. More than a trade fair, it’s a congress where chefs, producers, and industry professionals gather to discuss gastronomy, biodiversity, and social responsibility in the restaurant world, with talks and live cooking shows that reveal where contemporary cuisine is heading.

Over three days, the city becomes a meeting point for international culinary talent, and the atmosphere can be felt as much on the exhibition floor as at the tables of our neighborhoods’ rich and diverse restaurants.
- Dates: November 2–4, 2026
- Location: Fira de Barcelona, Montjuïc venue
- Official website: www.gastronomicforum.com
The summit of events and congresses: IBTM World
And in mid-November, Barcelona hosts IBTM World, Europe’s largest trade fair dedicated to meetings, incentives, and conferences. A curious paradox: the city that hosts the most international congresses in Europe becomes, for a few days, host to the congress of those who organize congresses. Few events better reflect Barcelona’s role as a host city, or the weight of the MICE sector, which moves thousands of professionals — and, with them, the city itself — every year.
- Dates: November 17–19, 2026
- Location: Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via venue
- Official website: www.ibtmworld.com

A city built to welcome
Behind every trade fair and every congress are delegates arriving with a packed agenda and a need to feel somewhere comfortable, familiar, central, and relaxing all at once. At Hotel Continental Barcelona and Continental Palacete, we know how important that is for making the most of your time, enjoying a good rest, and recovering energy in a warm, human environment: for eight generations, we’ve welcomed those who come to Barcelona for leisure or for business, and we love playing a part in their falling in love with our city. Whether from La Rambla or from Rambla de Catalunya, our doors remain open to those who choose Barcelona this autumn to meet, discuss, and build the future ahead.
