A new edition of tours through the most unique hotels in our city
The Hotel Continental Palacete became a Monument Hotel in 2018. This initiative, promoted by the Barcelona Hotels Guild, has the purpose of highlighting those hotel establishments that, due to their architectural heritage, their uniqueness, their works of art and their history, linked to Barcelona and the hotel sector, they deserve a special distinction.
A tour to enjoy art, architecture, gastronomy and cocktails
In this publication of the well-known magazine “Time Out” you will be able to discover the 20 Monument hotels in Barcelona. Enjoy the wonderful atmosphere that these hotels offer and relive past and dreamy times, while sharing a dinner or a drink in good company.
In the case of the Continental Palacete Hotel, the tour is scheduled for November 23 at 18.30-19-19.30-20h and it is necessary to send an e-mail to palacete@hotelcontinental.com, you will get a confirmation if availability (15 people per tour).
The architectural and artistic wealth of the Hotel Continental Palacete
The architectural characteristics of the hotel are undoubtedly one of the elements most valued by the Barcelona Hotel Guild to grant this distinction.
1863 was the year in which the building that houses the Hotel Continental Palacete was built. The most spectacular and characteristic thing is the conservation of its original rooms in the purest Versailles Louis XV, which were completely restored before opening the hotel in 2002. We can also find typical elements of Catalan Modernism that developed new architectural concepts based on nature. such as the stucco work with floral shapes on many of the high ceilings in the exterior rooms.
In addition, in the hotel there are two spectacular pieces that come from the family legacy. A spectacular chandelier that crowns the Centenario room, with dimensions of one and a half meters in diameter by two meters high and a 3 meter high modernist mahogany wardrobe acquired by the Vallet Arnau family at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889.

Una nueva edición de rutas por los hoteles más singulares de nuestra ciudad
El Hotel Continental Palacete se convirtió en Hotel Monumento en 2018. Esta iniciativa, promovida por el Gremio de Hoteles de Barcelona, tiene el propósito de poner en valor aquellos establecimientos hoteleros que por su patrimonio arquitectónico, su singularidad, sus obres de arte y su historia vinculada a Barcelona y al sector hotelero, merecen una distinción especial.
Una ruta para disfrutar del arte, la arquitectura, la gastronomía y la coctelería
En esta publicación de la conocido revista “Time Out” podrás descubrir los 20 hoteles Monumento de Barcelona. Disfruta del ambiente maravilloso que ofrecen estos hoteles y revive épocas pasadas y de ensueño, mientras compartes una cena o una copa en buena compañía.
En el caso del Hotel Continental Palacete la ruta está programada para el 23 de noviembre en los horarios: 18.30-19-19.30-20h. Es necesario enviar una petición a palacete@hotelcontinental.com y recibirá un correo de confirmación (plazas limitadas a 15 personas por sesión).
La riqueza arquitectónica y artística del Hotel Continental Palacete
Las características arquitectónicas del hotel son sin duda, uno de los elementos más valorados por el Gremio de hoteles de Barcelona para otorgar esta distinción.
1863 fue el año en que se construyó el edificio que alberga el Hotel Continental Palacete. Lo más espectacular y característico son la conservación de sus salones originales al más puro Versalles Luis XV, que fueron totalmente restaurados antes de abrir el hotel en el año 2002. También podemos encontrar elementos típicos del Modernismo catalán que desarrolló nuevos conceptos arquitectónicos basados en la naturaleza como los estucados con formas florales en muchos de los altos techos de las habitaciones exteriores.
Además, en el hotel se encuentran dos piezas espectaculares que provienen del legado familiar. Una lámpara de araña espectacular que corona el salón Centenario, con unas dimensiones de metro y medio de diámetro por dos metros de alto y un armario de 3 metros de altura modernista y de caoba adquirido por la familia Vallet Arnau en la Exposición Universal de París de 1889.

Un ejemplo de ello, es la aspiración centralizada que evita el peso de la aspiradora y facilita la limpieza de una forma muy significativa.
