The Fundació Antoni Tàpies is a cultural centre and museum located in the center of Barcelona which contains one of the most complete collections of the work of the famous Catalan artist.
It is located in a modernist building designed by the renowned Catalan architect Lluis Domenech Montaner. The center opened in 1990 at the headquarters of the ancient Editorial Montaner i Simon. The building was restored into exhibition rooms where to present the work of Antoni Tàpies. Recently, in 2010 the reform carried out by Ábalos+Sentkiewicz Arquitectos was inaugurated. The project has adapted the building to current standards of accessibility and has regained its original industrial character.
