Este a\u00f1o 2026 celebramos 200 a\u00f1os en el mundo de la hoteler\u00eda<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

En 2026 nuestra familia Malagarriga celebra 200 a\u00f1os de tradici\u00f3n hotelera, as\u00ed lo acredita un diploma expedido en 1826 por el Gremio de Mesoneros y Taberneros de Barcelona en el que se admite como miembro de pleno derecho de nuestro antepasado don Francisco Malagarriga y Munn\u00e9, nieto del maestro don Crist\u00f3bal Malagarriga y Porta. La denominaci\u00f3n de maestro indicaba una posici\u00f3n cualificada dentro del oficio. Desde entonces, generaci\u00f3n tras generaci\u00f3n, la hospitalidad y la vocaci\u00f3n de servicio han sido una forma de vida para nuestra familia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doscientos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, seguimos ejerciendo el mismo oficio: acoger, cuidar y servir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La familia y el Hotel Continental: vocaci\u00f3n, resiliencia y ciudad<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A finales del siglo XIX, el Gran Continental ya era un lugar emblem\u00e1tico en Plaza de Catalunya, punto de encuentro para la sociedad barcelonesa y para quienes visitaban la ciudad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 1931 se inaugur\u00f3 el Hotel Continental de primera categor\u00eda, impulsado por Francisco Malagarriga Fabra. El hotel ofrec\u00eda todas las comodidades de la \u00e9poca y espacios tan singulares como el sal\u00f3n \u00e1rabe. En 1932, adem\u00e1s, se inaugur\u00f3 el innovador Bar Automatic<\/a>, adelantado a su tiempo, con un sistema de autoservicio mediante monedas especialmente acu\u00f1adas y una est\u00e9tica moderna dise\u00f1ada por el arquitecto Manuel Cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El hotel vivi\u00f3 \u00e9pocas de esplendor y tambi\u00e9n momentos complejos. Durante la guerra civil fue confiscado y destinado a lugar de paz. En aquellos a\u00f1os se aloj\u00f3 el escritor George Orwell junto a su esposa<\/a>. M\u00e1s adelante, el establecimiento volvi\u00f3 a convertirse en punto de reuni\u00f3n de personalidades del mundo cultural y deportivo, y acogi\u00f3 encuentros del Futbol Club Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 1983, tras el fallecimiento de Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Malagarriga Miralbell, Pilar Vallet asumi\u00f3 la direcci\u00f3n con dos hijos de 13 y 12 a\u00f1os: Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda y Pili. Su fortaleza, creatividad y capacidad de trabajo fueron determinantes para sostener y renovar las instalaciones. En 1992, con motivo de los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos, el establecimiento recuper\u00f3 su categor\u00eda como hotel de tres estrellas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nuestra historia, ha sido una historia de perseverancia y vocaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El sue\u00f1o del Hotel Continental Palacete<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

En 1997, un anuncio en la prensa cambi\u00f3 el rumbo de nuestra historia: \u201cPalacete en venta\u201d. Se trataba de la Casa de Paulina Fabra, construida en 1863, trasladada piedra a piedra a la rambla de catalunya con el desarrollo del Eixample.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El edificio, de estilo Versalles, estaba muy deteriorado. Donde muchas personas ve\u00edan un problema, Pilar vio un sue\u00f1o posible. El palacete se adquiri\u00f3 en 1999 y, tras tres a\u00f1os de intensa restauraci\u00f3n, abri\u00f3 sus puertas como hotel en marzo de 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\u00ed naci\u00f3 el Hotel Continental Palacete, una peque\u00f1a joya arquitect\u00f3nica recuperada para la ciudad. Junto al Hotel Continental Barcelona, forma hoy parte de un legado familiar que combina historia, car\u00e1cter y un sello propio, como el buffet gratuito 24 horas disponible todos los d\u00edas del a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gracias por caminar a nuestro lado<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nada de esto habr\u00eda sido posible sin la confianza de quienes se han hospedado con nosotros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gracias a cada persona que ha elegido nuestras habitaciones, que ha compartido conversaciones en recepci\u00f3n, que ha celebrado un viaje, un reencuentro o un momento especial bajo nuestros techos. Gracias por permitirnos formar parte de su historia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Y gracias, de manera muy especial, a todas las personas que han trabajado y trabajan en nuestros hoteles. Su profesionalidad, compromiso y humanidad han sido y son el verdadero coraz\u00f3n del proyecto. Son quienes han hecho posible perseverar en tiempos dif\u00edciles y crecer en tiempos de oportunidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un futuro lleno de buenos momentos<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Celebrar 200 a\u00f1os no es mirar \u00fanicamente hacia atr\u00e1s. Es, sobre todo, reafirmar la voluntad de seguir creando recuerdos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Queremos que el futuro sea testimonio de muchos buenos momentos compartidos. Que nuestras salas sigan llen\u00e1ndose de vida, de conversaciones y de m\u00fasica. Las ya conocidas Intimate Session del Continental Palacete, con conciertos en formato cercano y diverso, son una muestra de esa voluntad de abrir nuestros espacios a la cultura y a la emoci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seguimos aqu\u00ed, dos siglos despu\u00e9s, con la misma esencia: hospitalidad aut\u00e9ntica, compromiso con Barcelona y pasi\u00f3n por acoger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
