It commemorates the arrival of the summer, and bonfires are the traditional way of doing it. Throughout the city people burn piles of wood and old furniture, and music and popular festivities flood the streets, the squares and the beach. The traditional \u201ccoca de Sant Joan\u201d \u2013sweet flat bread made of fruit and pine nuts- is always present. It is a delicious sweet typical of the night of Saint John. And even though this is really the shortest night of the year, for many people it is, without a doubt, the longest one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La verbena de Sant Joan es una de las fiestas m\u00e1s celebradas de los barceloneses. Se conmemora la llegada del verano y las hogueras son la forma tradicional de hacerlo. Por toda la ciudad, se queman pilas hechas con maderas y muebles viejos y la m\u00fasica y las fiestas populares inundan las calles, las plazas y la playa. No puede faltar la tradicional coca de fruta y pi\u00f1ones, una delicia t\u00edpica de la Noche de San Juan.
