One of the new features of the Olympic Port is the Poble Nou Breakwater promenade.

It is a space to stroll literally by the sea. You will feel as if you are on a boat. Still something of a secret, even for many locals.

It is also an ideal spot for running, cycling or rollerblading. Pleasant both by day and by night.

At the end of the promenade stands the sculpture “Capbussament” (The Dive), a work by the team of architects Oscar Tusquets, Carlos Díaz and sculptor Juan Bordes.

Restaurants with panoramic windows and sea-view terraces

The stretch of the Moll de Gregal, acting as a walkway over the water, offers privileged views of the skyline, the iconic Frank Gehry “fish,” and the boats moored in the harbor.

In addition, the Balcó Gastronòmic project brings new venues right above the sea, bringing visitors even closer to the sound of the waves.

It is a highly recommended place for lunch or dinner. Some of the most notable restaurants include:

  • El Cangrejo Loco: with more than 30 years of history, it maintains its seafaring essence with wide views of the Mediterranean.
  • Marina Bay: Mediterranean cuisine with a special focus on rice dishes, fish and seafood.
  • El Tribut: refined Mediterranean cuisine with signature proposals and sea views.
  • Superlocal: a more informal concept, with a sustainable approach, healthy dishes and a relaxed atmosphere.
  • Casa Carmen: a more affordable and casual proposal.

Daytime experiences at the Olympic Port

We recommend discovering some of the many activities available to visitors during the day:

  • Water sports: at the Olympic Port you can try paddle surf, sailing or rent recreational boats.
  • Boat rentals: to enjoy Barcelona from the sea.
  • Nearby beaches: the port is flanked by Nova Icària and Somorrostro beaches, ideal for a morning swim or a walk along the coast.
  • Art & culture: its proximity to the Olympic Village, Barceloneta and the Old Port (Port Vell) makes it easy to combine your walk with visits to museums, galleries and Barcelona landmarks.
  • Events and shows: the Olympic Port has hosted major activities, such as the La Mercè festival, which in its latest edition included performances, workshops and shows by the sea. It is an ideal venue for parties and events.

We hope you enjoy our most nautical and Mediterranean side of Barcelona!
