La Mercè, the Fiesta Mayor of Barcelona, celebrates its 150 years and although we will still have capacity restrictions and ticket reservations, the city promises to be filled with traditions, street arts, circus, dance, music and cinema, hundreds of options to enjoy. The best autumn plan is in Barcelona, from September 23 to 26!

“Beautiful, protective, and powerful” These are the words of the Parisian artist Malika Favre, who has lived in Barcelona for some years and who was the author of the poster for this year’s festivities. How many details of the Catalan tradition and Barcelona architecture can you find in this queen?
Highlights of the program
The popular and traditional culture is the star this year. So, on the central day, September 24, the Paseo de Gracia will host a commemorative parade in which groups of giants, ‘castellers’ and ‘falcons’ will participate. As you probably already know, our hotels are located in the heart of the city: the Continental Palacete is located just one street from Paseo de Gracia, and the Continental Barcelona, very close, on the famous Ramblas.

As an intercultural exchange, Havana is the invited city, with the participation of 100 Cuban artists. So we can have fun and appreciate a taste of Havana art and culture in the form of musical performances and street art, mainly in the Parque de la Estación del Norte.
The program will be released soon, more than 100 concerts are planned throughout the city. This year is also special for the BAM (Barcelona Acció Musical) who is celebrating its 30th anniversary and will be part of the great concert repertoire. On the other hand, in the Ciutadella and the Montjuïc Castle, you can find more than 110 companies that will perform in 350 functions, with more than 1,000 artists.

• September 16: traditional activities and the Mercè Arts de Carrer (Street art)
Musical shows will allow a maximum of two tickets per reservation. Traditional activities and street art, up to three tickets for each reservation. Stay tuned because usually tickets run out very fast! We suggest you book an activity at the Palacete Albéniz – Jardines de Joan Maragall, it is normally closed to the general public and the festivities are a good opportunity to get to know it.
