Joan Brossa Gardens
If you plan to go up to Montjuïc (and surely you should), take a stroll to Joan Brossa Gardens. Located on the hill and next to other city attractions such as Castell de Montjuïc, these gardens have also a piece of history in the city. This was the location of the famous Montjuïc Amusement Park over 30 years. The park closed in 1998, but now the place is a large green space, covered with typical Mediterranean plants. If you have a sunny day you will enjoy great views of Barcelona.
TIP: If you go with kids, they will love the playground areas.
Horta Labyrinth Park
This historical park, located in the Horta-Guinardó district, is the oldest garden in the city. Get inside the enormous vegetal labyrinth while you listen to the birds and touch the walls made by cypress trees. If you don’t find the exit, don’t worry, go to the middle of the labyrinth and ask to Eros sculpture. The park is now under maintenance tasks, but will open again the 30th of November. Get lost in this neoclassical garden!
TIP: If you go on Sundays or Wednesdays, the entrance is free (although during the week the general fee is 2.23€).
El Turó del Putxet Gardens
Turó del Putxet Gardens is a great place to enjoy amazing views of the city. This lovely park, located in the Putxet i el Farró district, is a hidden gem with a lot of plants species.
