World Press Photo Exhibition 2019
The World Press Photo Exhibition 2019 (until May 27) again makes Barcelona one of the first cities in the world to display the winning photographs in this prestigious photojournalism award and the winning works in the Digital Storytelling Contest.
This is the fifteenth edition of this international exhibition organized by the Photographic Social Vision Foundation.
Under the slogan “The stories that matter”, the winning works are mostly unpublished in our country.
Parallel to the exhibition, and developed by the Educational Area of the Photographic Social Vision Foundation, you can find an extensive program of activities and guided visits that enrich the understanding of current events and the functions, values and challenges of photojournalism.
Among them, a projection of the winning works of the Long and Short Format categories of the Digital Narrative competition open to the public in the CCCB auditorium.
The exhibition of the winning photographs, which began the world tour in Amsterdam, can be visited throughout the year in more than 100 cities around the world and 45 countries, reaching a global audience of more than 4 million spectators.
The World Press Photo 2019 contest in figures: The 140 winning photographs of this edition were chosen among the 78,801 images submitted to the contest, made by 4,738 international photographers and photographers.
Quantum
The exhibition Quantum (until September 24) gives us the keys to understanding the principles of Quantum physics, and it does so through the joint creative work of scientists and artists.
The project invites the public to browse reely, to awaken their curiosity, and to critically evaluate the new paradigms of modern science.
Quantum physics describes the fundamental laws of the world that remain hidden from the senses.
It is the human theory that most accurately describes nature today. In many respects, it is a surprising theory, subject to criticism and of great philosophical scope.
First, ten artistic projects show how the impact of quantum physics goes beyond the realm of science. Then, nine windows introduce laboratory research work and present visitors with the intellectual achievement represented by the theories of physics in contact with the scope of advanced experiments.
The union of these two itineraries, the artistic and the scientific, creates a multifaceted scenario that raises new questions and connections, helping us to comprehend an apparently invisible reality and the impact it has on our lives.

World Press Photo 2019
La exposición World Press Photo 2019 (hasta 27 mayo) vuelve a convertir Barcelona en una de las primeras ciudades del mundo en mostrar las fotografías ganadoras del prestigioso premio de fotoperiodismo y los trabajos ganadores del concurso de Narrativa Digital.
La muestra internacional de fotoperiodismo que convierte a la ciudad en una de las primeras del mundo en mostrar las fotografías ganadoras del prestigioso premio.
Esta es la quinceava edición de esta exposición internacional que organiza la Fundación Photographic Social Vision.
Bajo el lema “Las historias que importan”, los los trabajos ganadores son mayoritariamente inéditos en nuestro país.
Paralelamente a la exposición, y desarrollado por el Área educativa de la Fundación Photographic Social Vision, puedes encontrar un extenso programa de actividades y visitas comentadas que enriquecen la comprensión sobre la actualidad y sobre las funciones, valores y retos del fotoperiodismo. Entre ellas, una proyección de los trabajos ganadores de las categorías de Formato Largo y Corto del concurso de Narrativa Digital abierta al público en el auditorio del CCCB.
La exposición de las fotografías ganadoras, que empezó a la gira mundial en Ámsterdam, se podrá visitar a lo largo del año en más de 100 ciudades de todo el mundo y 45 países, llegando a una audiencia global de más de 4 millones de espectadores.

Cuántica
La exposición «Cuántica» (hasta 27 sept.) aporta las claves para entender los principios de la física cuántica, y lo hace a través del trabajo creativo conjunto de científicos y artistas.
Un proyecto que te invita a explorar los nuevos paradigmas de la ciencia moderna, despertar tu curiosidad y valorarlos críticamente.
La física cuántica describe las leyes fundamentales del mundo que permanecen ocultas a los sentidos. Es la teoría construida por los humanos que describe la naturaleza de forma más precisa hoy. En muchos aspectos, es una teoría sorprendente, siempre sometida a crítica y con un enorme calado filosófico. «Cuántica» permite analizar de qué manera los nuevos postulados de la física cuántica sacuden nuestra visión del mundo y el futuro de la humanidad.
Por un lado, se exponen diez proyectos artísticos que evidencian que el impacto de la cuántica va más allá del dominio de la ciencia. Por otro lado, se presentan nueve ventanas que introducen el trabajo de investigación en el laboratorio y sitúan al visitante ante el logro intelectual que suponen las teorías de la física en contacto con el alcance de los experimentos avanzados.
Al unir estos dos itinerarios, el artístico y el científico, se configura un panorama poliédrico que plantea nuevas preguntas y conexiones que contribuyen a la comprensión de una realidad aparentemente invisible y el impacto que esta tiene en nuestras vidas.
