The company United Airlines which is already operating in the Catalan city with daily flights from New York, has announced to offer a new daily nonstop route between Washington and Barcelona. The service is still subjected to government approval, though.

According to plan, from 26^th May to 6^th September 2016, the hub in Washington, the International Airport will be once a day directly connected to Barcelona El Prat Airport. This new line added will provide thereby additional access to Europe during its peak-season.

“United continues to add routes where our customers want to travel, when they want to travel,” said Brian Znotins, the vice president of network during the US press release.

It will not only suppose good news for US travelers but also for Spaniards, since a connection between Barcelona – Sao Paulo is about to be effective with stop in Washington.

For these nonstop flights, the airline has assigned a Boeing 767-400 with capacity for 242 seats in three different categories. Among them, the United BusinessFirst featured with sleeper seats available to travel comfortably during the 8h and 10 minutes eastbound and the 9h and 15min westbound.[:es]La compañía de aerolíneas United Airlines, que ya opera en la ciudad catalana con vuelos diarios desde Nueva York, ha anunciado una nueva línea diaria entre Washington y Barcelona sin escalas.

Ésta, por supuesto, está aun sujeta a aprobación gubernamental.

Según lo previsto, entre el 25 de mayo y el 6 de septiembre de 2016 el Aeropuerto Internacional de Dulles (hub en Washington) y el Aeropuerto de El Prat en Barcelona quedarán unidos a diario a propósito de la temporada alta en Europa.

“En United seguimos incorporando rutas dónde y cuándo nuestros clientes quieren viajar” declaró el vicepresidente de la red Brian Znotins en el comunicado de prensa estadounidense.

Del mismo modo, con España más unida aun a EE.UU podrá darse lugar una conexión Barcelona – Sao Paulo con escala en Washington, algo inexistente hasta la fecha.

Para estos vuelos sin escalas, la aerolínea ha asignado un Boeing 767-400 con capacidad para 242 plazas distribuidas en tres distintas categorías. Entre ellas, la United BusinessFirst dispondrá de asientos-cama para viajar cómodamente durante las 8h y 10min dirección este, y las 9h y 15min dirección oeste.[:]
