El Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de Barcelona tendrá lugar del 13 al 29 de abril de 2012 y contará de nuevo con las tres secciones habituales a competición: Internacional, Obliqua y Documental, en las que se proyectarán más de 300 cortometrajes de más de 35 países distintos. Además, la decimocuarta edición del festival estará repleta de novedades con un gran número de secciones paralelas que recorrerán diversos géneros, temáticas, épocas y países. Algunas de estas son: el especial First ever, que bajo una estética Vintage, ofrecerá a los espectadores cortometrajes en los que aparecen el primer teléfono móvil o el primer beso de cine; o los especiales Fin del Mundo, Antihéroe, Heavy Metal y Friki, nerd y otras rarezas humanas. También se podrá ver una retrospectiva de las obras en corto del autor francés François Ozon, así como un especial de cortometrajes suizos de la mano del Festival Winterthur y el especial Videodanza.
